Announced at the inaugural Global LGBTI Funding Summit in Cape Town, South Africa, the $150 million campaign has received three- and five-year commitments from 28 foundations, corporate funders, and donor governments. Funders include the Ford, Oak, Baring, and Horizons foundations, as well as Outright International, Mama Cash, and the Global Fund for Children. The fund is intended to bridge a growing resource gap as long-standing global donors are ending or scaling back their support for already under-financed LGBTI-related programs.
